Trench Decay: Demolisher Shotgun Guide

Last updated 2026-10-10Unofficial player article

Learn the Demolisher's four-shell alternate fire, 16-shell magazine, recoil and range limits, and its Trench Diggers bundle route.

The Demolisher is Trench Decay's quad-barrel shotgun for close-range burst. It holds 16 shells, and the aim button fires four at once—or every remaining shell when fewer than four remain. That button is alternate fire, not normal aim-down-sights.

Use the four-shell burst for the close-range job

The Demolisher rewards a deliberate burst decision. Alternate fire spends four shells together, which makes it easy to burn through the 16-shell magazine when you use the button repeatedly. Think about whether the close target needs that commitment before firing.

I would save the burst for an encounter that actually suits the shotgun's role. A distant target is a poor reason to spend several shells, especially when the gun's effective range is already one of its drawbacks.

Do not mistake the aim button for a scope

The weapon has no aim-down-sights. Pressing the aim control triggers alternate fire, with heavy recoil. If you are expecting to steady a long-range shot, that input produces a very different result from the one you intended.

Keep the range short enough for the shotgun role, and leave room to manage the recoil and next shot. The gun is a specialist for burst damage, not a replacement for every rifle encounter simply because four barrels look powerful.

Choose the acquisition for a weapon you want to use

The Trench Diggers Unit 036 Warbond includes The Demolisher. Bundle acquisition and an individual Armoury offer are different spending choices, so consider whether you want the wider set or just the gun's role.

A close-range weapon is worth pursuing when that is how you intend to fight. If you prefer distant rifle shots, an expensive bundle does not change the shotgun's reach or its alternate-fire behavior. Keep the purchase connected to the sessions you want to play.

Demolisher questions

What if only two shells remain?

Alternate fire uses the remaining shells rather than creating a full four-shell burst.

Can I aim down sights?

No. The aim input is alternate fire on this weapon.

What should I compare before buying?

The weapon directory helps separate close-range and sustained-fire goals.
