Trench Decay: World Map and Campaign Map

Last updated 2026-10-10Unofficial player article

Distinguish the live cross-server world map from your local campaign route, then use the right system for the objective you want.

The Trench Decay live world map represents a war shared by players across servers. It is different from the route inside your current campaign. Use the world map to understand the community objective, and use your run's map for the immediate squad path.

This related gameplay video provides context for the campaign and equipment decisions below.

Read the world map as shared progress

The live map and Major Orders connect all players rather than resetting into an unrelated war on each server. A local session is one part of that wider cooperative effort. Check the active game when you want to know what the community is working toward.

The useful question is which shared objective is active, not whether an old screenshot still shows the same front. A live map can change while an evergreen guide remains useful for explaining how the systems differ.

Where is my squad going in this run?Local campaign route.
How should we prepare?Equipment and class choices for the session.

Keep local route advice local

A campaign map tells your group about its own run. A world-map announcement tells you about the wider war. Confusing them can make a local stage decision sound like a choice that moves every player to the same place.

Use the map that belongs to your question. If the squad needs its next destination, discuss the local run. If you want the community's objective, read the active Major Order. These systems complement each other without becoming the same menu.

Plan the session around what your squad can finish

A shared objective gives your group a direction, but it does not replace preparation. Keep the weapon and class choices suited to the session you intend to play. An ambitious community goal is easier to contribute to with a squad that understands its own job.

I would keep a manageable cooperative plan over chasing a map change with unfamiliar equipment. The aim is useful participation rather than treating the global objective as a reason to abandon everything that already works in your campaigns.
