Trench Decay: Iron Maiden Challenge Guide
Find the Iron Maiden mask, prepare for its one-HP restrictions, and understand the hosted Major Objective condition for Gold Maiden.
Iron Maiden is a Trench Decay mask challenge, not the Jaeger boss. It sets the challenge to one HP, slows movement, and disables modifiers. The Gold Maiden reward requires you to host and complete a Major Objective with the challenge.
This related gameplay video provides context for the campaign and equipment decisions below.
Find the mask through the Ossuary or bundle route
The mask can be found behind a breakable wall in The Ossuary. The Jaeger's charge can break walls, and shooting is another route described for the wall. Entombed In Steel is a separate Warbond acquisition option.
Keep obtaining the mask separate from completing its challenge. Owning the item is the starting point; the reward asks for a specific objective completed with it. A bundle purchase does not itself complete the one-HP challenge.
| Item or condition | Meaning |
|---|---|
| The Iron Maiden | One HP, slower movement, and disabled modifiers. |
| Acquisition | Ossuary breakable-wall route or Entombed In Steel. |
| The Gold Maiden | Host and complete a Major Objective with the challenge. |
| The Jaeger | Separate Ossuary boss; not the challenge mask. |
Prepare for the one-HP commitment
One HP radically changes the margin for mistakes. The mask also slows movement and disables modifiers, so do not plan the attempt as though your usual settings and movement will remain unchanged.
I would learn the intended objective with a normal squad attempt before committing to the challenge. Use equipment and a route you understand. The goal is avoiding the mistakes you can already anticipate, not expecting a harder mask attempt to teach every unfamiliar part of the encounter at once.
Host the Major Objective for Gold Maiden
The requirement is to host and complete a Major Objective with the challenge. Keep the host condition in your plan before starting the attempt, especially when another squad member usually leads the session.
Do not confuse a global Major Order with the local Major Objective named in this challenge requirement. Also keep The Iron Maiden, The Gold Maiden, and The Jaeger distinct: the first is the challenge mask, the second is its reward, and the third is the boss associated with The Ossuary.
Challenge questions
Is Iron Maiden another boss name?
No. It is the mask challenge.
Does buying the mask grant Gold Maiden?
No. The hosted objective completion is the reward condition.
What should I learn for the Ossuary encounter?
Use the Jaeger guide for its attacks and positioning.
