Trench Decay: Factions and Bunker Relationships
Recognize the four world factions, compare Nomad trade with Oathkeeper work and New Order hostility, and separate factions from Divisions.
Trench Decay's world factions include The Fourth Coalition, The Nomads, The Oathkeepers, and The New Order. The Nomads trade scavenged weapons and Gun Scrap, The Oathkeepers offer enemy-clearing work, and The New Order is hostile rather than a source of work.
This related gameplay video provides context for the campaign and equipment decisions below.
Use faction names to understand the next interaction
A named group can change what kind of interaction you expect. The Nomads have a trading identity, while The Oathkeepers connect to clearing enemies. The New Order belongs to the hostile side of that comparison.
I would keep those distinctions in mind before spending or starting a fight. A faction name is useful because it tells you which kind of opportunity or threat you are approaching, not because every group gives the same transaction under a different banner.
| Faction | Role in the comparison |
|---|---|
| The Fourth Coalition | A central world faction. |
| The Nomads | Scavenged-weapon and Gun Scrap trade. |
| The Oathkeepers | Enemy-clearing work. |
| The New Order | Hostile; no work offers. |
Keep Gun Scrap trade separate from other spending
The Nomads trade scavenged weapons and Gun Scrap. That relationship belongs to their faction interaction, rather than being a universal Medal price list for every weapon. Keep the resource and the offer together when considering a purchase.
If your goal is equipment, decide whether the available trade serves the weapon role you want. An offer from a named faction is still a spending choice. Do not give up a useful reserve solely because the group appears on your route.
Do not confuse factions with Divisions
Factions belong to the game world; Divisions are player guilds. Recognizing a story faction does not mean you have joined a player group, and joining a Division is not the same action as meeting a faction in the campaign.
That distinction keeps lore and cooperation clear. You can understand the groups' roles while planning a squad session without inventing a membership requirement for every bunker interaction.
